Smith, S. Harold, Ed.
This publication is devoted to five major topic issues selected from articles first published in the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The volume begins with the theme of the individual in the recreation experience. It next reviews the role of leisure and recreation within the basic unit of society, the family. The third area of focus is on the impact of leisure and recreation in the lives of those traditionally described as disabled. Fourth, a graphic presentation is given on the impact of leisure and recreaton in the rural environs of the United States. Last, a report from the American Association for Leisure and Recreation provides an update of their 1964 report, "Goals for American Recreation." Numerous black and white photographs illustrate the report. (JD)
