Work Experience Education Instructional Guide. Revision.

This guide provides work experience education coordinators with a framework and a series of topical items that can be incorporated into the classroom-related instruction portion of the student's work experience education program. An introduction lists student outcomes, describes the curriculum framework, and outlines verification activities. Section 1 contains input activities, including student and employer surveys, student self-evaluation, employer evaluation, and student forms. Activities are categorized under five topics: career development, how to get a job, how to keep a job, how to leave a job, and economics. An introductory sheet to each activity provides this information: suggested audience, methods, resources, time, main idea, employer participation, vocabulary list, and coordinator notes. Any materials needed to complete the activity are provided. Appendixes include activity reading levels, work experience education vocabulary in the activities, information on the "rewriting technique," strategies for developing vocabulary, information on the VOICE system and Special Education Resource Network, and the work experience education matrix.
