Polk County School Board Single Parent/Homemaker Program. Final Report from June 30, 1986 to July 1, 1987.
Williams, D. A.
The Polk County School Board Single Parent/Homemaker Program was a multiagency effort designed to meet the psychological and educational needs of single parents and displaced homemakers who lack marketable skills. The program offered immediate support to clients who were in need of information and referrals; workshop sessions on personal development, career guidance, stress management, and employability skills; educational opportunities; and job development and job placement assistance. These services were provided to 103 individuals within the framework of a service delivery system that was made possible by combining resources from the Polk County School Board, the Polk Community College, the Heartland Private Industry Council, and the HRS WIN program. (Appendixes to the 11-page report include a project organizational chart, an outline of the project's New Beginnings workshop, a client flowchart, a vocational profile, a service log, a newsletter, a list of advisory committee members, the advisory committee's outreach letter, program publicity materials, and the project budget summary.)
