Child Day Care Program Evaluation System.
Monroe, Marian
In this document the Texas Department of Human Resources (DHR) presents criteria which day-care providers can use to evaluate their programs. The criteria can also be used by DHR staff to determine whether or not providers can deliver the services specified in their contracts with DHR. For each criterion, five achievement levels, clarification, supporting information, and a tabulation guide are provided. Using the tabulation guide, a score can be obtained for each criterion. The criteria are organized into categories which cover (1) staff qualifications and development, (2) care groups, (3) staff-child interaction, (4) food service, (5) environment, (6) activities for children, and (7) interaction among staff, parents, and the community. Appendices include criteria for infants, toddlers, and school-age children, as well as for day care homes. A glossary is also attached. (PCB)
