Office Procedures 20-30. Senior High School Teacher Resource Manual.
Alberta Dept. of Education, Edmonton. Curriculum Branch.
This manual is intended to help teachers meet the objectives of the 1985 Alberta, Canada, Offices Procedures 20-30 curriculum. The manual is organized in five sections. The first section contains introductory information on the Office Procedures 20-30 curriculum, including course objectives and a flowchart of the modules in the office procedures course. Planning the course is the topic of the second section, which contains information on long-range planning, integrating office procedures within the business education program, module selection, course outlines, course planning, lesson plans, and an example of a lesson plan. Suggestions for teaching the 10 modules of the course are included in the third section, which makes up the bulk of the document. For each subtopic of the modules, information is included on teaching approaches, time, student activities, and resources. The 10 modules cover the following areas: structure of the business office, personnel in the business office, business communication, records management, information processing, clerical routines, secretarial routines, office specialities (two parts), and office simulation. Procedures for student evaluation and a list of learning resources make up the fourth and fifth sections of the manual. Appendixes provide a sample lesson plan, a detailed example of an oral report, a transcription evaluation form, and a get-acquainted activity. (KC)
