Getting Your Foot in the Door. I. Self-Knowledge to Help You Start Your Career.
New York City Board of Education, Brooklyn, NY. Office of Occupational and Career Education.
This workbook is the first in a series of four student workbooks designed to prepare youth with the employability skills needed for the world of work. The four student workbooks contain all phases of employability skills in seven individual packages. This workbook on self-knowledge to help start a career includes two learning packages--one on career planning/self-perception and another on career planning/values. The writing, speech, and drama exercises are to be worked on privately, in class, or with friends and family. For many of the exercises, there are no right or wrong answers, only different ways of answering the same question. An added feature of the workbook is the key vocabulary words extracted from the text and repeated at the bottom of many of the pages. A bibliography is appended. (YLB)
