Intended for use by people interested in community college education in Florida, this report provides descriptive and statistical data on enrollment trends, college personnel, educational finances, and governance. The report opens with a brief historical overview of the state system from its beginnings in 1933 to the present. Next, statistical tables are presented focusing on: annual student enrollments, 1947-48 through 1985-86; opening fall enrollment by class, program, and status; full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment by college; annual FTE enrollment by term and discipline; annual headcount enrollment by college and discipline; student acceleration information including credit by examination, advanced placement, dual enrollment and early admissions; degrees and other formal awards; vocational programs offered by college; salary ranges for instructional personnel, instructional departmental administrators, managerial personnel, and non-instructional personnel; salaries for selected positions in the system; employee headcount by sex and race; statement of beginning balance, revenues and other receipts; statement of educational and general expenditures by general and restricted current fund; unexpended plant fund expenditures; cost per FTE; direct cost of instruction per college; and direct cost of support services per college.
