Third World Women in Agriculture: An Annotated Bibliography.
Kessler, Shelly
The initial purpose of this literature search on Third World women in agriculture was to locate materials in the New York and Washington areas. However, the location of source materials became a project in and of itself, and gaining access to various collections no small feat. Some of the best material is what is called fugitive literature. Word of mouth remains the single best avenue to the location of resources. The collections accessed in this search are: the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the Population Council, the Agricultural Development Council, the International Women's Tribune Center, the United Nations, the Agency for International Development/Office of Women in Development, and the International Center for Research on Women. Materials are divided according to content: overview; farm systems research; sexual division of labor, case studies; time allocation; project evaluation; services, extension, training, credit, cooperatives; land reform and resettlement schemes; and impact of development.
