Most students enjoy reading interesting selections about unusual plants, animals, insects, spiders, and other creatures. This book attempts to capitalize on the natural curiosity of students by introducing them to some of nature's most intriguing forms of life. The document is designed to provide students with background information, including facts and descriptions, about 19 unusual plants and animals. Each page of information is followed by a skills check which is designed to assess the student's comprehension of the main idea, vocabulary, and dictionary skills. The skills check is followed by an activity, including puzzles, creative writing assignments, games, and scavenger hunts. An answer key for all of the skills checks and activities is also provided.
