Where the Wild Things Are: A Directory of Wisconsin Environmental Education and Nature Centers.

Based on the idea that natural areas can provide some of the formal educational needs of schools and informal educational needs of the public, this document provides a listing of environmental education centers and nature centers in Wisconsin. Information about various facilities is organized and presented by geographic area. Descriptions of each facility include: (1) owners/operators; (2) the months/hours of operation; (3) fees (if any); (4) a short description of the sites/facilities; and (5) a synopsis of the activities and/or programs available. An index to the facilities and a list of other environmental education resources are included. The document also contains articles about state lands and local resources, classroom approaches to environmental education, school forests, and state parks and recreation areas. (TW)
