Learning about Earth Science: Tables and Tabulations. Superific Science Book X. A Good Apple Science Activity Book for Grades 5-8+.
In an effort to provide science teachers with the tables and scales most often used in teaching earth science, this document was designed to coordinate each table with meaningful activities, projects and experiments. The major areas covered by the booklet are: (1) electromagnetic waves (with activities about light waves and sound waves); (2) the earth's crust (including instruction on minerals, earthquakes, and volcanoes); (3) winds and weather (containing tabulations of relative humidity, wind speed and direction, temperature, air pressure, clouds, sky symbols, weather maps, and time); and (4) the solar system (providing instructions on making solar system models and tabulating solar system facts). Included are guides for making simple measurement equipment, along with reproducible handouts, quizzes, and an answer key. (TW)
