Report of the Activities of the Omnibus Articulation Committee: Pittsburgh Public Schools/Community College of Allegheny County, 1985-1986 Academic Year.
Allegheny County Community Coll., Pittsburgh, PA.
An overview is provided of the articulation efforts undertaken by the Pittsburgh Public Schools and the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) during the 1985-1986 academic year, focusing on concrete accomplishments and insights on future needs. The first sections of the report provide a historical perspective on the genesis of the articulation efforts and the creation of the Omnibus Articulation Committee as a vehicle for communication and action on all items related to the college and schools. Next, the report lists the accomplishments of three articulation subcommittees and highlights identified needs in their areas of work: (1) the Sub-Committee on Academics, which developed articulation agreements for specific disciplines, promoted contacts between college and school staff, offered a mathematics instruction workshop for teachers, presented a course entitled "How to Start Your Own Business," and provided joint basic skills programming; (2) the Sub-Committee on Vocational and Continuing Education, which furthered continuing education projects at off-campus centers; and (3) the Sub-Committee on Student Services, which began a project to share information on the progress of public school graduates at CCAC. The bulk of the report consists of appendices which detail project accomplishments. (LAL)
