Results of a survey of candidates for graduation at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, are summarized, with attention to college experience and future educational and career plans. Of the 520 graduates, questionnaires were returned by nearly half (46%), who were representative of the total population. Family and friends were cited as being most influential in the student's decision to attend the school. Students admitted receiving help outside their academic department, mostly for selecting courses. Participation in preprofessional and departmental clubs was the activity most relevant to career and employment pursuits. Nineteen percent of the respondents had accepted full-time employment, and 13% were continuing their education. Almost all said they would go to college again and would recommend the university to a friend, while 85% said they would pursue the same major. Almost three-fourths said they were very well prepared to conduct a job search, and 44% used at least one service of the Career Planning and Placement Center.
