Sexuality Education: An Annotated Guide for Resource Materials.
This document is the final volume of a six-volume set of reports on sexuality education. It is a guide to major resources for sexuality education designed for professionals working with children and adolescents between the ages of 3 and 18. It reviews books, films, filmstrips, curricula, charts, models, and games for youth in elementary and secondary school. Information on each resource includes the author, title, publisher or distributor, date, and approximate grade level. The price is included for audiovisual resources and curricula. With a few exceptions, the listed resources are followed by detailed annotations which describe the content and usefulness of each item, give special attention to the racial composition of characters, and specify the audience that would be most receptive. The guide also mentions any values conveyed that may conflict with the values of potential users. The 387 references are divided into 9 sections: (1) Books: Elementary School; (2) Books: Junior High School; (3) Books: Senior High School; (4) Films: Elementary School; (5) Films: Junior and Senior High School; (6) Filmstrips: Elementary School; (7) Filmstrips: Junior and Senior High; (8) Curricula; and (9) Charts, Models and Games. The address and telephone number for the publisher or distributor of each reference is provided in the "List of Publishers" and the "Audiovisual Distributors" sections at the end of the guide. (NB)
