Iowa State Univ. of Science and Technology, Ames. Dept. of Home Economics Education.
The 2-part student workbook for mainstreamed learning and mentally disabled high school students contains 12 units intended to provide supplementary instruction in the Contemporary Parenting Choices Curriculum in the home economics class. This unit, the fifth in the Relationships part of the workbook, focuses on understanding marriage and includes individual lessons on things a couple should talk about before marriage, factors which contribute to a healthy marriage, and responsibilities in marriage. Each lesson typically provides lesson objectives, definitions of key vocabulary terms, workbook activities, a brief discussion of the topic, and a review activity. The material is intended to be used with the special Teachers Guide and the other components of the Contemporary Parenting Choices Curriculum. (DB)
