Iowa State Univ. of Science and Technology, Ames. Dept. of Home Economics Education.
The 2-part student workbook for mainstreamed learning and mentally disabled high school students contains 12 units intended to provide supplementary instruction in the Contemporary Parenting Choices Curriculum in the home economics class. This unit, the fourth in the Relationships part of the workbook, focuses on understanding the married and single life styles and includes individual lessons on why people choose to marry or remain single, why some people who were married become single again, and what living situation choices single people make. Each lesson typically provides lesson objectives, definitions of key vocabulary terms, workbook activities, a brief discussion of the topic, and a review activity. The material is intended to be used with the special Teachers Guide and the other components of the Contemporary Parenting Choices Curriculum. (DB)
