Staff Development Guidelines for Trade and Industrial Education Teachers.

This booklet provides guidelines for updating secondary school trade and industrial education teachers in the technologies of their teaching areas. The first part of the guide gives suggestions for organizing a staff development program. Next, specific programs that might be used are described, including the following: work experience internships; university and college course work; workshops, conferences, and seminars; industry observation; education and industry staff exchange; part-time employment; local programs; nonlocal programs; and industry training and updating programs. For each type of program, a description is provided, followed by administrative characteristics and a list of advantages and disadvantages. (KC)
