Information is provided on: applicants for the 1976-1977 year; program trends for academic years 1973-1974 through 1976-1977; the number of Basic Grant recipients and nonqualifying applicants for 1976-1977 by state; national statistics on total expenditures and total students aided with average Basic Grant awards by type and level of institution and state. Statistical tables cover: total applicant population; dependent and independent applicants and their family income distribution and eligibility determinations; the distribution of qualified applicants by income level for the 1973-1974 through the 1976-1977 academic years; the number of applicants receiving veterans educational benefits; distribution by state of all applicants, dependent applicants, independent applicants, qualifying applicants, and nonqualifying applicants; and Basic Grant full-time payment schedule to be used for determining scheduled awards for academic years 1976-1977 and 1977-1978; Basic Grant disbursement schedule for three-quarter time students for academic year 1977-1978; and Basic Grant disbursement schedule for half-time students for academic year 1977-1978.
