This document presents the findings of 1982 surveys of college relations/recruiting managers and chief executive officers who were employer members of the College Placement Council. These surveys collected the following information: (1) type of industry; (2) division of responsibilities for recruiting within organization; (3) types of activities included in the organization's college relations/recruiting program; (4) costs of recruiting; (5) number of hires; (6) usefulness of the College Placement Council; (7) past and future changes in recruiting; (8) importance the chief executive officer assigns to recruiting; and (9) the involvement of the chief executive officer in recruiting. The document consists largely of tabulated survey results. Results from the recruiting manager survey are divided into 15 industrial categories. The chief executive officer survey is not divided and is presented with four tables. Appendices include the survey instruments and a table listing responses from college relations and recruiting managers by industry and size of organization. (ABL)
