Profiles of 83 Native communities, Indian bands, and Metis settlements in rural Alberta provide overviews of human and material resources. Included for each community are information on location, size, history, population, economic base, transportation, physical infrastructure, services, education, communications, local government, and community organizations. Communities listed are estimated to have at least 50% Native population six months of the year. Community profiles are arranged alphabetically in a standardized two-page format. An Alberta map locates each community, and maps with each profile give detailed location. (LFL)
