Mental Health Services for the Elderly: Report on a Survey of Community Mental Health Centers. Volume II.
Flemming, Arthur S.; And Others
This document is the second volume of a series of reports on the Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) Survey project undertaken to assess the impact of the Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Services block grant program on the delivery of mental health services to older persons. Section I of this volume presents excerpts from the reports on the site visits to CMHCs and Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) which were conducted to obtain information about the impact of the block grant on CMHC programs and age-related services, and on the nature and extent of interagency contact and cooperation between CMHCs and AAAs. Section II contains the mail/telephone survey questionnaire which was completed by 233 CMHCs in 41 states and which requested information on the impact of the block grant, specialized aging programs, funding sources, the client population, services provided to older clients, and professional and support staff. Section III presents guidelines for site visit interviews with CMHCs, AAAs, and with clients and/or significant others. Section IV provides the levels of statistical significance for the data comparisons in the project. (NB)
