Data and information currently available on these indicators are summarized and their adequacy assessed. Conclusions on how to improve the database are provided. Areas currently under consideration for development of indicators include resource investments in mathematics and science education, assessing teaching effectiveness, further consideraton of curriculum quality indicators, improving the assessment of learning, assessing attitudes and motivation, and indicators of science literacy in the general population.
