Comprehensive Home Economics: Scope and Sequence.
Nashville - Davidson County Metropolitan Public Schools, TN.
This guide, which was written as an initial step in the development of a systemwide articulated curriculum sequence for all vocational programs within the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System, outlines the suggested scope and sequence of a two-semester course in home economics that is designed to provide ninth-grade students with an overview of the semester courses in home economics that are available to students in grades 10 through 12. The guide consists of a course description; general course objectives; a course content outline; and lists of recommended textbooks, curriculum guides, and audiovisual materials. Addressed in the course content outline are the following topics: the Future Homemakers of America/Home Economics Related Occupations (FHA/HERO); family living and parenthood education, food and nutrition, consumer education, clothing and textiles, child development and guidance, and housing and home management.
