Part of a four-volume directory on child care facilities in the United States, volume 1 provides information on nearly 13,000 day care facilities in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Drawing on current information provided by each state government, the directory lists licensed facilities. Arranged alphabetically by state and city, each entry includes the name and address of the facility and, in most cases, provides the contact name, telephone number, capacity, and age range served. An appendix describes how each state licenses its day care facilities and lists the contact office for more information. The directory also contains an alphabetical listing of facilities by name.
