Three-Year French Program. Curriculum Guide, Grades 10-12. [Revised.]
Alberta Dept. of Education, Edmonton.
The curriculum guide for Alberta's three-year French language program, which spans grades 10 through 12 and is intended for jurisdictions able to offer only the minimum language program, includes the following components: a set of objectives reflecting the province's goals of basic education and a rationale to support the inclusion of French in a school program; specification of minimum expectations for each language skill (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and for cultural understanding by the end of grade 12; specific performance objectives and linguistic content for each of the three grades; specific minimum core content for all students and elective components for enrichment; and suggested teaching and learning strategies and evaluation procedures. In a final section, performance goals are cross-referenced by grade to the student texts used in the program. (MSE)
