Studytalk Activities. Resources.
English in Australia, n58 pi-xvi Dec 1981
The teaching activities presented in this document have been selected from a series of language study units prepared for teachers by the Queensland Language Development Project task force as part of the Studytalk project. They focus on inquiring into some of the varieties of language most accessible to teachers and students. In each of the three units students are asked to collect, record, and discuss samples of people's language--people from different backgrounds using language in different situations. The units deal with (1) historical changes in language, (2) languages of the school community, (3) language and audience, and (4) the language of musical genres. Lists of resources--including videocassettes, monographs, and films--are included. (EL)
