English in Australia, n72 pi-xvi Jun 1985
A program developed for adult aboriginal and part aboriginal underachieving students uses the novel "Wild Cat Falling" in the admission studies course of an Australian college. The program combines a study of literature with language and skills development components, encourages student self esteem, and allows students to learn through their own reading, writing, and testing activities. A chart provided to help instructors teach this program covers three phases: an overview, a detailed presentation of study, and a summary and evaluation of the instruction. The chart is divided into four sections: objectives, methods, instructional materials, and evaluation. (EL)
