Statistical data and other information about postsecondary education in Alaska are presented in this compendium in support of the first statewide master plan for postsecondary education. The volume contains: (1) selected information concerning the colleges and universities in Alaska, including enrollment and state population trends, and certificates and degrees offered and awarded; (2) 1980 Alaskan population by race; (3) a report on postsecondary education in rural Alaska, which discusses the present situation, public participation, and current issues; (4) Florida statute relating to a common course numbering system for community colleges and the state university system; (5) University of Alaska institutional mission statements; (6) financial strategies for obtaining revenue for capital improvements; (7) sample legislation establishing a competitive, non-need-based scholarship program for Alaska; (8) a state act establishing the Pacific Rim Fellowship Program; and (9) Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education field support fees for fiscal year 1986.
