The Austin Independent School District (AISD) presents District summary data for the achievement tests administered in the spring of the 1984-85 school year to all AISD students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills is administered to kindergarten through eighth grade, Tests of Achievement and Proficiency is administered to grades nine through twelve, and the Texas Assessment of Basic Skills is administered in grades 3, 5, and 9-12. District characteristics accompany these results to describe the general context in which these achievement scores were collected. Students' scores were excluded from these achievement summaries under the following conditions: scores for special education students who received special education services; and scores for students who were monolingual or dominant in a language other than English.
