Facsimile Transmission Use in Libraries.
Ryan, Joe
Facsimile is an electro-mechanical system for transmitting and receiving images. Libraries began to take an active interest in using facsimile equipment in the latter part of the 1960s. Since that time, telefacsimile has been used by libraries primarily as a method of reducing document delivery time between cooperating interlending institutions. This bibliography focuses on the use of telefacsimile equipment within libraries. Also included are selected documents relating to business use or technical specifications as deemed relevant. Other forms of document delivery or electronic mail are not included. Journal articles, books, conference proceedings, and technical reports are included in this 192-item bibliography which is arranged alphabetically by author. A selected subject and geographic index are included. (THC)
