Employability Competencies for Entry Level Word Processing Skills.
This syllabus describes the basic competencies needed by entry-level workers in the field of word processing. Competencies are organized according to the following skill areas: systems operation; text creation; storage, and printing; revision; formatting; text applications; word processing center procedures; word processing theory; and proofreading. Each page in the syllabus presents a competency statement that is defined by an indicator, a performance objective, a benchmark, and one or more specific observable tasks or behaviors to be used as assessment criteria.
