Advanced Marketing 8130. Planning for Entrepreneurship. Teacher's Resource Guide.

This teacher's guide is designed for use in a one-semester course to provide marketing and distributive education students with the skills necessary to open a marketing business. Included in the guide are a task list, a suggested teaching sequence, and a series of nine instructional units. The following topics are addressed in the individual units: responsibilities and rewards of owning a business, potential business opportunities, effects of international trade, selection of the correct location for a business, development of a marketing strategy for a business, development of a financial plan, interactions of government and business, procedures for financing and selecting the legal form for a business, and development of a management plan. Each unit consists of handouts and an instruction plan that includes some or all of the following: a duty statement and duty evaluation criterion; cross-referenced lists of tasks, performance objectives, and evaluation instruments; a list of resources needed to complete the unit; and a lesson plan that contains cross-referenced topical outlines, performance objectives, learning activities, and evaluation measures.
