Beaver, Evelyn, Ed.; Kruckenburg, Joanna, Ed.
Designed for both state- and district-level policy makers, this report profiles the demographic and academic characteristics of California community college students. Introductory remarks describe the database for the report, the report's format, and the data elements presented. Section I contains a series of tables which aggregrate the following student counts and characteristics by district: (1) number and percent of full-time, part-time and noncredit students; (2) gender and ethnicity; (3) age; (4) credit enrollment by credit unit workload attempted; and (5) weekly student contact hours for regularly scheduled credit classes and total potential hours of attendance for positive attendance classes. Section II is a parallel presentation for the individual colleges. In section III, district data related to gender and ethnicity, age, high school completion status, level of academic achievement, enrollment status, residency status, citizenship status, and student goals are categorized by full-time, part-time, and noncredit status.
