Technical Writing Resources. A Handbook for Engineering and Technology Faculty at Purdue.
Cheek, Madelon
Ideas for technical writing assistance and resources that are available to Purdue University faculty who incorporate a writing component into their courses are presented in this guide. Following an introduction containing the purpose, background, and scope of the guide, three main topics and their subtopics form the guide's structure: (1) "Instructional Assistance" presents guidelines for developing technical writing assignments, suggestions for evaluating student papers, and standards and specifications for good technical report writing; (2) "Writing Lab Assistance" discusses teaching help, consulting help, and instructional materials in composition that the writing laboratory makes available to faculty and students; (3) "Computer Aided Assistance" describes word processing and text editing, and gives a digest and an evaluation of the Writer's Workbench program. Appendixes include information on technical writing style, report formulas, and illustrations. (EL)
