Infusing Global Education.
Lee, Helen C.
Social studies courses provide a natural home for emphasis on the values of global education. However, in a curriculum already crowded, it is difficult to find an appropriate place to add a course on global education. One alternative is to infuse global objectives into existing courses. There are a number of strategies for doing this successfully. One approach is to introduce questions about likenesses and differences between people, races, cultures, and nationalities into every lesson. Another strategy is to select one or more positive value statements for discussion at the conclusion of textbook units. Evaluation of these methods can be achieved through attitude questionnaires.
