Handicap Program Management and Evaluation: Comprehensive Plan for the Los Angeles Community College District for the Fiscal Years 1977-79.
This report presents a plan for the evaluation of a handicap program as it was implemented at the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) in 1977-79. Introductory material notes some of the other publications that deal with the evaluation system used in the LACCD and discuss the implementation of the 1977-79 plan. The next sections of the report highlight the LACCD's overall educational philosophy and its philosophy regarding handicap programs; provide information on the handicapped population to be served by the district, including a breakdown of handicapped student enrollment by disability; present goals for six program areas (i.e., special facilities, special education materials, educational assistance, mobility assistance, transportation, and program development services); and review proposed services and programs. The report provides a summary of the programs and services for the handicapped offered at each college by disability category (i.e., communication, physical, and learning disability); sample student intake forms; a summary of proposed program and service areas; and a review of evaluation procedures. A management and evaluation plan is also presented, identifying the target group, the task to be performed, how the task will be measured, the date of completion, degree of accomplishment, and comments. This section includes a timeline for evaluation of activities. A bibliography is appended. (HB)
