This report presents an evaluation of an individualized professional development program, the Professional Support Program, created at the Reading Area Community College (RACC) in Pennsylvania to provide a climate within which academic faculty and professional staff may enrich their personal and professional capacities to teach students effectively. Section A introduces the RACC Professional Support Program, highlighting the role of the Professional Support Committee in planning, developing, initiating, and evaluating activities in the areas of curriculum services, instructional services, professional development services, and program development services. This section outlines the role of the professional development services component in providing organized opportunities for professional growth at the faculty-wide, divisional and individual levels; and describes the "personalized professional development plan" and its role in professional development. Section B provides a qualitative assessment by faculty who developed the personalized professional development plan of personal and professional value. Section C presents a summary assessment of the personalized professional development plan model and discusses six major advantages of adopting the plan. Appendices include book purchases, an evaluation memorandum, the development plan, and a four-page selected bibliography. (HB)
