An evaluation is presented of summer inservice secondary school teacher education programs given at five colleges of Addis Ababa University in 1982. A survey was conducted focusing on how academic and administrative affairs were operated. The first chapter of this report provides a statement of the problem, identifying the background history of teacher education in Ethiopia, the problems of the training and supply of secondary school teachers, and required teachers' qualifications, as well as the purpose of the study and its significance. Chapter two deals with the design of the study, sources of data collection, and the administration of data collecting instruments. An analysis of data resulting from the study is presented in the third chapter. The final chapter gives conclusions and recommendations. A copy of the questionnaire and a bibliography are included.
