This volume outlines the requirements and content of a second-year course in allied health occupations education that is designed to provide students with a practical understanding of the work done by the radiologic team and to enable them to acquire some basic skills used in the X-ray department. Addressed in the individual units of the course are the following topics: the qualifications necessary for radiological technologists, anatomy and physiology, imagery equipment, specialized imagery equipment, radiographic examinations, the radiograph, and communication. The first part of the volume sets forth standards pertaining to the primary objective of the course; its content; its target audience, duration, and prerequisites; and course requirements. The bulk of the guide comprises a series of unit outlines in which behavioral objectives are presented together with an implementation plan and a list of lesson assignments.
