Over 2,000 research resources, most of which were published during the 1960's and 1970's, are listed in this annotated bibliography for students, teachers, librarians, researchers, and others interested in interdisciplinary resources on Latin America. Although there is a section listing materials for teaching children and young adults, the bulk of the book is aimed at the college and university level. Following a preface, the book is arranged in two major parts--a bibliography section and a directory section. Materials in the bibliography section are arranged by major discipline, then subdivided into alphabetical-geographic sequence by Latin American nation. General topics include biography, dance, economics, education, folklore, geography and geology, history, humanities, language, periodicals, law, librarianship, museums, scientific institutions, literature, mass communication, music, philosophy, political science, psychology, reference books, religion, social science and socio-economic-political conditions, Spanish-speaking residents of the United States, and theater arts. The directory section contains lists of: colleges and universities offering courses in Latin American studies; research and training centers; professional associations; government agencies; foundations; libraries, information centers, and data banks; book publishers; book dealers; periodical subscription agents; and Latin American specialists in the United States. While most of the titles are in English and Spanish, all annotations are in English. Separate author and subject indexes for the bibliography section and a general index for the directory section conclude the document. (LH)
