This bulletin reviews research and lists resources on sex differences in mathematics and science achievement in middle-grade students. Research is discussed in relation to the following points: (1) differences in boys' and girls' achievement or ability; (2) influence of math/science on students' futures; (3) interventions for middle-grade years; (4) opinions of researchers on biological factors; and (5) influences of social variables on girls' attitudes. Books and articles, curricula and instructional materials, advocacy resources, and resources to watch for are all listed, with an annotation describing each. Research references are also included.
