Information on tuition reimbursement policies for employers near Wisconsin colleges is presented. Of the 26 campuses surveyed, six University of Wisconsin campuses had completed formal surveys of local employers: campuses at Madison, Oshkosh, Parkside, Green Bay, Manitowoc County, and Sheboygan. Profiles of the six campuses that completed surveys are presented. The profiles provide the following information: purpose of the survey, the office completing the survey, date completed, survey procedure, response rate, results, use of the survey findings, the title of the survey and bibliographic information, and comments. For the campuses that did not complete their own surveys of employer policies, information is provided on uses of information on tuition reimbursement and problems associated with a tuition reimbursement survey. Previous research on employer-sponsored tuition reimbursement is reviewed with attention to: reports of surveys of companies or unions, studies of employees' use of plans and barriers to use, benefit studies, and reports of efforts to increase employee use of tuition reimbursement. The survey questionnaire and suggestions for increasing employees' use of tuition aid plans are appended. (SW)
