Data on 1983 revenues and expenditures for New York State colleges and universities are presented. Revenues for public, private, and proprietary institutions are cited from the following sources: tuition and fees; federal, state, and local appropriations and grants and contracts; private gifts, grants, and contracts; endowment income; sales and services of educational activities; sales and services of auxiliary enterprises; sales and services of hospitals; and independent operations. Revenues from these sources are also identified for university centers, university colleges, health sciences centers, specialized colleges, statutory colleges, agricultural and technical colleges, central administration and university-wide programs, total state operated units, state community colleges, City University of New York (CUNY) senior colleges, CUNY community colleges, private multi-universities, private universities, private college complexes, four-year or higher specialized colleges, four-year health sciences centers, four-year engineering and technical institutions, seminaries, two-year nursing schools, and other two-year colleges.
