Telecourse Inventory, 1984.
American Association for Higher Education, Washington, DC. Center for Learning and Telecommunications.
A sourcebook that provides descriptions of more than 130 telecourses produced for higher education is presented. Listings include information on the level of content, format, producer, length of program, production date, ancillary materials, and availability of the courses. A brief course description is included, along with listings of lesson titles. Courses selected met the standards of the highly-rated two- and four-year colleges. They can be used with existing curricular offerings and academic areas, and serve to expand opportunities for extending education beyond traditional campus settings. Courses fall into two categories: those that can be broadcast, are likely to be used by large numbers of colleges and universities, and are likely to be offered for credit; and those that are not available for broadcast, or are likely to be used by only a few institutions apart from the producer, or are likely to be used only for noncredit. The courses are current--no more than 6 years old. The telecourses are listed by academic areas and professional fields. (SW)
