Incorporating Microcomputers into Secretarial and Clerical Vocational Programs. Final Report.
Buck, Judy; Jackson, Gloria
A project was undertaken to review and restructure the secretarial and clerical curriculum at Sikeston Area Vocational School in Sikeston, Missouri. Input from advisory committee members, members of the business community, teachers, and published articles were synthesized to identify additional units that needed to be incorporated into the existing secretarial and clerical program. Subsequent to this review, microcomputer programs were developed to cover the following topics: typewriting (medical typewriting), filing, financial records (bank reconciliation), and mailable letters (punctuation). (Appended to this project report is the course outline that was developed during the curriculum review. The course outline comprises objectives, lists of materials needed, instructions, and actual instructional materials for use in implementing 17 units dealing with various secretarial procedures and office machines. Also provided in the course outline are the actual project-developed microcomputer programs mentioned above.) (MN)
