New Jersey State Plan for Services to Persons with Developmental Disabilities, 1984-1986.

The state plan outlines standards and procedures for providing educational and other services to developmentally disabled persons in New Jersey. The first section defines developmental disabilities (DD) and considers how many people have DD, how DD affect individuals, and the purposes of the Developmental Disabilities Basic State Grant Program. Section 2 outlines the composition and function of the New Jersey Developmental Disabilities Council. In section 3, the implementation role of the State Division of Mental Retardation as the administering agency for the Developmental Disabilities Program in New Jersey is set forth in a school year chronology. Section 4 describes a variety of agencies comprising the network of services for developmentally disabled persons, including the Departments of Education, Health, and Human Services. Also listed in the section are priority service areas. Sections 5 and 6 list the Council's goals, objectives, activities and budget as well as assurances. Section 7, attachments, consists of a list of agencies included in a private agency survey and a letter of approval from New Jersey's governor indicating that New Jersey's State Plan is consistent with other state plans and programs.
