Proceedings of the Community College Humanities Association, Number 5, 1983-1984.
Rassweiler, Anne D., Ed.; Hylander, Joan W., Ed.
The keynote address before the Community College Humanities Association (CCHA) Central Division Conference is presented in this publication along with a series of reports reflecting the activities of the CCHA for 1983-84. In his address entitled "Born Again Humanities or Here Comes the Sun," Landon C. Kirchner discusses the incipient rebirth of the humanities in the nation's community colleges and indicates why it will be necessary for the humanities to recover their unique character before they can take advantage of this revival. The next sections focus on the activities of the CCHA's Central, Eastern, Pacific-Western, Southern, and Southwestern Divisions, providing for each division a summary of the annual regional meeting, a president's report, and minutes of the division business meeting. Next, the minutes of the CCHA Board of Directors Meeting are presented, offering division and committee reports. The following sections contain a bulletin of upcoming events, a list of CCHA general endowment fund contributors, a list of the honors and awards received by CCHA members, and a list of the association's members. The constitution of the CCHA and a list of standing committee members conclude the report. (HB)
