Creative Problem Solving and Thinking Strategies for the Gifted and Talented Student with Annotated Bibliography.
Huebner, Louise M., Comp.
The guide examines creative problem solving strategies for gifted and talented students (kindergarten through intermediate levels). The 33 strategies are arranged alphabetically by title and include the name of the developer, grade level, purpose, time allotment, strategy instructions, examples, application and/or variation, resources, and comments. Among strategies included are brain storming, developmental sequences, directed discovery learning, frame geometry, independent study processes, productive thinking, simulation games, social sciencing, and a synetics problem solving method. The guide concludes with an annotated bibliography containing 48 references listed alphabetically by author/editor. Each entry includes a summary of contents and a suggested grade level use. A briefer, unannotated list of resources is also provided. This document is part of the Iowa Area Education Agency 7 Teacher Center project. (CL)
