This guide is designed to assist liberal arts students at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in planning a career and acquiring a job. It is meant to be used to chart the student's career planning through four years of college. The following topics are included: (1) a description of the people, programs, and resources available to assist in career planning; (2) the advantages of a liberal arts degree in the workplace; (3) a description of the format of this guide; (4) seven self-assessment instruments; (5) ways to translate experience into skills, values, and traits that are prized in the workplace; and (6) job search methods.
