Consumer Education Curriculum.

This curriculum guide is intended to provide classroom teachers with an easily adaptable consumer education program that is appropriate for use with students in grades K-adult. In the first part of the guide, various consumer educational concepts are listed by grade and then by subject area. Discussed next are the suggested scope and sequence of the consumer education materials presented. The next section of the guide, an activities section, consists of learning activities dealing with the following areas: a value system for consumer education, decision-making procedures, the rights and responsibilities of consumers, and the role of the consumer in our economic system. Within each area, activities are grouped by grade level and are explained on activity sheets containing a title, competency number, grade level, suggested procedures, as well as handouts and supplemental materials. Concluding the guide is a list of consumer educational resources and materials. (MN)
